What Are DRPT’s Barriers to Skin Health?

  • Dehydration – An impaired barrier makes DRPT skin less able to retain water and protect against irritants and allergens than other Baumann Skin Types.

  • Pigmentation — DRPT skin type are more prone to pigmentation issues such as sun spots, melasma, and uneven skin tone

Product Advice for DRPTs

  • Cleanser — Foaming cleansers or those with salicylic acid

  • Moisturizer—Use barrier repair moisturizers with MLE technology or ceramides, fatty acids, and cholesterol

  • Treatment products — Use anti-inflammatory ingredients. Use skin lightening ingredients, but take a one-month break from them every 3 to 4 months

  • Sunscreen — SPF 15+
